The Natani curse, also known as Natini's curse, is a popular belief associated with Lake Pichola in Udaipur, Rajasthan. It is said that a woman named Natani, while attempting to cross the lake on a rope, drowned after Maharana Jawan Singh, in an inebriated state, promised her half the kingdom if she succeeded. She is believed to have cursed the king that he would not have an heir to his throne from his own family. There is a platform called Natani Chabutra built to commemorate her death.
