While carbon dioxide (CO2) often dominates climate discussions, methane plays a disproportionately large role in global warming.

"Methane is a bit like the ugly duckling compared to CO2. It's between 28 and 84 times more potent, which means when it's in the atmosphere, it absorbs much more heat."
