In this episode, I’m joined by Maryteas’ editor and pod manager, Ivan. 

Actually, si Ivan, ka-schoolbus ko sya nung grade 1 (nakalimutan na nya to HAHAHAHA) pero, nung highschool talaga kami naging close (2nd year HS. Hi DDN friends!!) Pero basically, in the midst of our busy adulting lives, nag-reconnect kami because this podcast was formed.

Ivan and I discuss his journey diving into the audio world. The struggles he’s faced as someone trying to start a career in the cutthroat world of audio and media. At pano nga ba nya nalaman na audio ang passion nya?

 Ano nga ba feeling na may makatrabaho na celebrities at podcasters………….sino nga ba ang nakakainis katrabaho!?!? Sino naman yung sobrang saya kasama? Syempre, gusto ko gumawa ng issue eh. Eme!!! HAHAHAHAHA

We also touched on the reason why he decided to help start this podcast, what we both hope for the foreseeable future of the pod, at kung anong assignment nya para sakin para mag grow pa tong Maryteas. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA GANON!!!

This is the first episode of a mini-series I want to start called “English Only Zone” where I invite my friends who are non-Tagalog speakers and we discuss the usual topics we touch on this podcast. Hehehe

In this first episode of EOZ, I invited my friend and workmate, Nalin, to talk about career shifts (something that I think passes all of our thoughts even just once in all of our adult lives. HAHAHAHA) As someone who worked in corporate for 4 years before making the jump to pursue her passion, I thought she’d make the perfect guest :)

Will there be a moment? An epiphany wherein we would feel, “OKAY. I HAVE TO DO IT NOW” ?

Is it instantaneous? During the moment when you feel like you want to change your career, do you feel immediately ready to make the jump?

Will we have regrets? Is it really worth it to make our passion…..….into a career?

Nalin shares it all with us, and I hope the experience she shares may help you make the decision whether you’ll make the shift or not :p

Bilang mga malapit na mag trenta, Keith and I reflect on how much we’ve learned during the most “just-figuring-it-out” phase of our lives. Tapos, eto na nga, ano nga ba pakiramdam na…na eto na, medyo malapit na matapos ang twenties?

Ano nga ba feeling na IKAW na talaga ang adult sa buhay mo?

Bakit parang minsan feel natin ang bagal ng oras, but at the same time, ang bilis?!?!

Mga batchmates namin dyan, OKAY PA BA TAYO?!?! HAHAHAHA 

Keith and I also talk about how we expected our twenties to go vs. how it’s currently going, greatest lessons we’ve learned, and bitter pills we’ve swallowed. 

And syempre, we share what we look forward to in the next decade, our thirties!!
