It sounds like a 3,000-year-old fable handed down for millennia. Still, the story of the Prince of Bahwal, the prince who rose from the dead, ends, we think, in 1946 after several court cases with both British and Indian judges deciding that the prince had indeed returned from death and the kingdom was rightfully his. There are volumes of evidence in this case, and perhaps even more speculation, theory, and gossip and it all provides a fascinating Ancient Story (with an equally fascinating ending).
