You listened to ANCHRS Away and all you got was an earful of rambling from hosts Amnesty Coldwell and Rachel Zyzda... but what else is new?! On today's episode, we use the track "I Slept With Someone in Fall Out Boy and all I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me" by Fall Out Boy to discuss the stigma around fangirls and (yuck) the outdated term of "groupie." Men are allowed to lose their minds over sports, so why does society frown upon fandom for musicians? We also do a historical dive on the origin of the term "groupie" and travel down memory lane to talk about movie and media depictions of the phenomenon, like Penny Lane in Almost Famous. We *may* even tell true tales about our own intimate encounters with some of our favorite musicians (scandalous!)
As always, we wrap up with our weekly Wreck-ommendation.
