An authentic exploration of life as I know it, through thoughts and conversations I have, interesting people I meet, and research I have done.
One of the most attractive aspects of Kivun for me was the diverse nationalities of its participants. Over the year, we had the chance to learn about each other’s cultures, as well as our shared Jewish culture. In this episode, Sammy Schajer from London, Ilja Scherb from Germany, and Jacob Lecerof from Sweden join me to discuss the cultural differences between our countries. We open the conversation by relaying stereotypes we have of each other’s counties, and we decide if they are accurate or not. We talk about the behavior of the "average" person in each country, Jewish life, anti-Semitism, core values, teenage social life, school system, and transition to advanced studies.
Kivun is over, and I'm back home in the United States while editing this episode. It was an honor and privilege to get to know and grow close to Jewish peers from around the world. My passport is ready; now I have 39 houses to visit!
