Epilepsy is a public health problem that is rather uncommon to be talked about. There are many myths and false beliefs surrounding the disease, many of which come from the very fact that there isn't much educated information regarding epilepsy given to the general public. It is, therefore, part of our responsibility as medical students fortunate enough to have more knowledge in the medical field to correct the misinformation we come across. This should be done not merely for the sake of fulfilling responsibilities, but with the awareness that the spread and belief of something that is simply false, when it affects many people with the condition and their loved ones, is no harmless mistake.
