Small bites of Big Literature: Archilochos against war

Join Chrysanthi as she presents two poems of Archilochos, a Greek poet of 700 b. C. He speaks against war, though he has been a brave warrior himself, smashing the stereotypes and the values of his time about male virtue and values. Back then a man should be above all a brave warrior. The coward would be punished by exile: he was considered as a useless person.

Chrysanthi Koutsiviti, a passionate teacher and a passionate philologist! A passionate hiker and traveler around the planet, as well! After 36 years of teaching in secondary and tertiary education I like to think that some social impact might have occured by teaching these masterpieces of global literature, ancient and contemporary, to my students or my ‘’spiritual children’’, as I like to say!
