Yet, for one that's incarcerated, time is the one thing you have an abundance of, and it's how you spend that time that matters most. David O'Neill is our guest today. He did spend 25 years being incarcerated. He's the author of the new best-selling book, "Forged in Hellfire."
On this episode of American Real, Roger asks David about how he came up with the concept of getting his book written. "I spent a lot of years behind bars, and I had many guys tell me that my life was like a movie," David says. "Many of these guys had actually been there with me through these events that I had experienced, and they told me for years, 'you have to write this down, people need to see this.' For the last 2 years of my incarceration, I wrote. And I kept many of my journals throughout my incarceration, so I had books to go off, I had journals to go off of and use those as a platform to write my book."
