1840年起，英國、法國、德國、俄國不斷對清廷步步進逼，紛紛簽條約來奪取在華利益，到甲午戰爭結束後，列強的野心不只是開通商口岸，而是紛紛建立勢力範圍、建鐵路、奪資源，藉此壟斷經濟。今集要討論的重點是中俄密約及瓜分危機。
