
Today’s segment gives us the alarming idea that you cannot separate the personhood from our daily habits. We have many habits that have been carried into adulthood, not realizing they are linked to the beliefs about oneself. Whether they are good or bad habits, they are fully displayed. This chapter challenges us to decide who we desire to become. If we really desire to see some habits changed, we have to dig deep for those underlying beliefs about ourselves. We generally have a plan to change behaviors first. Subsequently, deep issues of the identity gets neglected, hence revolving back to bad habits. We discover that habit formation comes from deciding who you want to become. We then honor our identity by maintaining those habits associated with that identity.
