Navigating Gender Roles AKA Energy Roles in Romantic Relationships

In this thought-provoking episode of All With Heart, cohosts Jose “WaVE” Carranza and Ryanna Hammond dive into the complex dynamics of gender roles in romantic relationships. While the conversation centers on their personal experience as a heterosexual couple, they explore how these roles extend beyond traditional labels to embrace the concept of masculine and feminine energy, which transcends gender. Whether it’s male or female, masculine or feminine, these energies exist in every person and partnership, and understanding them is key to a healthy, balanced relationship.

The discussion touches on how both hyper-feminism and patriarchy can be damaging, and the hosts share their thoughts on finding a harmonious middle ground. While they acknowledge their own tendency toward traditional gender roles, they emphasize the importance of choice, respect, self-awareness, and communication in defining roles that work for each individual person.

Ryanna and WaVE also explore the misconception that being in a traditional feminine role is disempowering, and discuss how, when done consciously and with mutual respect, these roles can be incredibly empowering. They also challenge the idea that the person with the dominant role has more power, stressing that true leadership comes with respect and check-ins.

In a kinky twist, the conversation extends to the bedroom, where dominant and submissive roles are explored in an open, non-judgmental way. Is being submissive oppressive, or can it be an empowering experience? And what does being dominant really mean? The hosts discuss how these dynamics, when practiced with love, respect, and care, are far more nuanced than the stereotypes portrayed in media.

If you’ve ever wondered how to approach gender roles in a relationship or what it truly masculine and feminine energies truly mean, this episode will offer you a refreshing perspective on creating balanced, conscious partnerships where energy, not gender, leads the way.

Hot Seat Debate: Reincarnation, Animal Experimentation, and More

In this week’s episode of All With Heart, Ryanna Hammond and Jose "WaVE" Carranza, AMFT, continue their exploration of deep, thought-provoking questions in a hot seat debate. From the possibility of eternal life to the mysteries of the soul, Ryanna and WaVE dive into topics that challenge beliefs and spark curiosity.

While last week’s debate was more fiery and intense, this week, their perspectives align pretty closely, creating a fascinating and lively discussion. Listed below are the six captivating questions the couple explores.

Ryanna asks WaVE:

1. If you could live forever, would you? Why or why not?

2. Do souls live on after the body is dead? If so, where do they go?

3. Do you believe in reincarnation and past lives? That maybe your soul has been here before? That there may be a way to access your soul’s history?

WaVE asks Ryanna:

1. What do you think about experimentation on animals?

2. What’s one of the weirdest things you did as a child?

3. Is it possible to not care about what other people think?

From unraveling the mysteries of dreams and souls to exploring the complexities of faith vs. belief to navigating threesomes, Ryanna and Jose hold nothing back in this raw and honest exchange.

The couple delves into what it means to be human, the dynamics of long-term relationships, and the fine line between personal beliefs and universal truths. And, as they debate whether morality is universal or subjective, they leave listeners with more questions than they came with. A final kiss at the end signifies a mutual understanding that the conversation was a truly thought-provoking experience.

Listeners will enjoy the deep debates, honest answers, and the compelling dive into life’s most profound questions.

Questions asked in the episode:

Jose to Ryanna:

2. For you, what’s the difference between faith and belief?

3. When we are older, let’s say 54, and hypothetically, our sex life has plateaued, would you be open to swinging?

Ryanna to Jose:

1. What do you think is the hardest part about being human?

2. Would you ever have a threesome with me? With a female? With a male? Would it be fair for one of us to have to watch the other have sex with someone? Is this a double standard you’re willing to admit to?

3. Is morality universal, or does it depend on culture, nurture, and perspective?

You Don't Have to Settle...I Promise!

In this solo episode with co-host Ryanna Hammond (you’ll hear from WaVE in a solo episode soon), she opens up about her personal growth journey with regard to how it shaped her perspective on relationships. She dives into the importance of not settling, whether it’s choosing someone just because you feel you have to or staying in a relationship that’s full of chaos or one-sided energy. The relationship you truly want is out there, and you deserve it.

Ryanna shares her personal experiences of thinking she had to pick between smart or good-looking or athletic, until she learned she didn’t have to compromise on any of it. Through trial and error, she realized what she truly wanted in a partner and that it was possible to find someone who matched her in all the ways she needed.

Also, Ryanna explores the power of following your intuition in dating and relationships. It’s not just about what you want—it’s about what feels right deep down. We unfortunately can ignore red flags or not listen to our inner wisdom, which can lead us down the wrong path.

If you’re feeling unsure or stuck in your current relationship, this episode is a must-listen. Remember, you don’t have to settle for less than true love—feeling safe, happy, secure, and supported.

"How I See You" and the Importance of Play: Is He Laughing with Me or at Me?

In this fun-filled episode of All With Heart, hosts Ryanna Hammond and Jose “WaVE” Carranza take a break from the usual deep dives into self-reflection and relationship challenges to explore something just as vital for a healthy relationship: laughter and fun!

Ryanna and WaVE take on the Instagram trend “How I See You,” where they create a collage of nine different categories (like character, food, place, and season) that represent their partner. With no prior peek at each other’s choices, they reveal their collages on camera, leading to plenty of laughs and some sweet surprises about how they see one another.

Along the way, the couple shares awesome moments, including a heartwarming memory about WaVE teaching Ryanna a valuable lesson on respecting nature during a hike, the funny comparison of Ryanna to a not-so-attractive animal, and a hilarious slip-up where Ryanna calls the Powerpuff Girls the Powderpuff Girls.

Ryanna reflects on past relationships where playful activities like this were dismissed, and urges listeners to consider whether they’re with someone who values deeper connection in their relationship, mentioning self-questions like “Do you genuinely enjoy most of your time with your partner? Can you laugh together? Is there more good times than bad?”

For WaVE, this exercise seemed “cheesy” at first; he touches on his initial reluctance to partake because as a man he was taught that vulnerability is a weakness. The exercise became a great reminder for him that being open to the feel-good emotions and vulnerability is key to any relationship, even when it feels uncomfortable.

This episode is packed with laughs, love, and snippets of knowledge. Tune in for a reminder that laughter truly is the glue that keeps a relationship alive. And, listeners, try this “How I See You” trend at home with your partner or loved one. Tag us and let us know how it goes. We want to hear your results!

Disconnection Happens: How To Grow Through Relationship Conflicts

In this episode, cohosts Ryanna Hammond and Jose "WaVE" Carranza dive into the complexities of disconnection in relationships. Whether it be conflicts, arguments, or those moments when you feel distant from someone, there is a healthy way to navigate charged emotional spaces. They break down avoidant and anxious stress response emotions, how they can impact thoughts and behavior, and highlight the normalcy of experiencing them.

The first step in overcoming disconnection is self-awareness, and in this episode, Ryanna and Jose discuss practical methods to cope—whether it’s breathing through tough thoughts or reminding yourself that these feelings are temporary. They share how their relationship has evolved through self-awareness, taking ownership of their actions, and “keeping their side of the street clean.” They discuss how apologies, reflecting on your ego, and owning your part in any disagreement help bridge the gap and foster reconnection.

The couple also touches on societal conditioning, particularly growing up in families where issues were “swept under the rug,” and how that approach in relationships can lead to grudges and resentment since nothing ever gets talked about, apologized for, or worked through. Ryanna and Jose highlight how cultivating a new approach—talking things out, understanding each other, and moving forward together—can create a healthier, more connected dynamic in a partnership or household. The best part: this kind of relationship challenges you to grow as an individual, as you learn to face your own flaws while being fully accepted by someone who loves you despite them.

To make it real and relatable, they also share a fun, tangible example—a recent disagreement they had over a microwave! They walk through their individual thought processes and how they ultimately came back together.

This episode will reassure you that you’re not alone in what you experience. It will also help you feel seen and heard, and offer valuable insights on how to move through difficult moments in any relationship—romantic, platonic, or familial. “Perfect” relationships don’t exist, conflict is normal, and anxious or avoidant thoughts will come up! Tune in for practical advice and a reminder that growth, communication, and love are always possible—even after challenging disagreements.

Navigating Love, Intuition, and the Psychology of Romance

Welcome to Season 2 of the All With Heart podcast! In this first episode, we’re kicking things off with a heartfelt conversation between our host Ryanna Hammond and our co-host for the season, Jose Carranza, AMFT, also known as “WaVE.”

Together, they dive into the psychology of romance, sharing their own journey of love, and the spiritual and psychological forces that shaped their relationship. They explore how they knew they were the love of each other’s lives, and how “love at first sight” isn’t always the spark one expects—sometimes it’s the deep, magnetic pull that unfolds over time.

With reflections on masculine and feminine energy, soul connections, and the importance of internal growth, the couple talks about how we are all guided to our perfect match when we are ready to meet them (and this will look different for each person!). Romantic love, overall, is a journey of self-discovery, intuition, and finding the one who makes your life better.

So...from navigating singlehood to ensuring that your chosen relationship is built on natural flow, the many topics of this episode will shift your perspective on love, relationships, and what it really means to be confident about a romantic connection.

What's the Deal with Sobriety and Substances?

In this episode, we dive head first into sobriety, substance use, and substance misuse. I kick off the episode by walking you through my personal journey with alcohol and drugs, discussing my struggles, various life phases, and my current standpoint: embracing sobriety, no alcohol, and occasionally turning to plant medicine when it resonates with my soul. I explore the concept of soul blueprints, meaning that what is right for one may not be right for another, and vice versa. While certain things are in accordance with my own soul blueprint, yours might look different, and that is OK. It's all about being honest with yourself and following your intuition to find what truly aligns with you. I also touch on common topics that arise when it comes to substances—fear of missing out (FOMO), false happiness, and instant gratification—and how I came to understand and work through them myself. Finally, we discuss the difference between using substances recreationally versus intentionally, and why I only advocate for and believe in intentional use: where substances are approached with mindfulness and purpose. If you’re curious about finding balance and understanding your own relationship with substances, this episode is for you.

Sexuality and Self-Acceptance

In this solo episode, I dive into my personal journey understanding and deeply knowing my own sexuality. I explore the importance of opening the fearful boxes we’ve kept locked away in our minds and asking ourselves the tough questions: What do I truly like? What do I desire if I strip away the societal stigmas? Is this actually wrong because religion said so? If we avoid these questions, we continue to live in fear—but by confronting them, we open the door to our true selves and allow others to be their true selves too.

Embracing your sexuality starts with self-acceptance, no matter what others may think. Accepting myself—even when others denied my truth—was the key to living authentically, feeling comfortable in my own skin, and accepting others' sexuality with ease.

Disordered Eating to Balance: My Recovery and Tips

In this episode, I open up about my seven-year battle with eating disorders, disordered eating, and body dysmorphia, which began at age 15. I share what it was like to keep it hidden for years to maintain control, and how I eventually realized that true healing would only come through honesty with myself.

At 22, I made the life-changing decision to go to an intensive out-patient therapy program, confronting my harsh food and body reality and choosing to prioritize my well-being. There were a lot of transformative steps I took in my early 20s to shift from disorder to balance. From mirror work and self-talk practices to trying new approaches with food, I found great tools to shift my mindset and life.

In my self-commentary, I share with you the tools that helped me recover. If you're struggling with disordered eating or have a difficult relationship with food or your body, tune in for insights, tips, and encouragement to begin your own healing journey.

Encountering God: A Journey Beyond Religion

In this deeply personal episode, I dive into my evolving relationship with God and how my perception of The Divine has transformed over the years. Raised in both Catholic and Christian traditions, I found myself leaving and returning to the church multiple times, only to ultimately embark on a spiritual journey of my own. From meditation and third eye expansion to multiple "dark nights of the soul," I’ve come to see God in everything and everyone around me.

Join me as I invite you to explore the universal essence — whether you call it God, Great Spirit, Allah, Source Energy, Love, Mother Nature, etc. — and to embrace the idea that heaven is not a distant place, but a state of being here and now. There are many paths to understanding and living in touch with The Divine, and I believe all of them are rooted in Love rather than Fear.

All With Heart
Embracing the Gray with Tasha Reign

This week on All With Heart, we're thrilled to welcome Tasha Rain—an author, adult performer, and boutique owner—to the podcast. Tasha's memoir, From Princess to Porn Star: A Real-Life Cinderella Story, caught our attention with its raw honesty about the ups and downs she's experienced in life and in the adult industry.

In this episode, we dive into the complexities of embracing the gray areas of life—rather than blindly living in the black and white—through topics like gaining courage, overcoming fear, and finding the delicate balance between self-care and beauty power gained via the male gaze. We also touch on her advocacy for women’s rights, her experiences speaking to fraternities about consent, and her current life era as a mom and boutique owner in Southern California.

Her story is a powerful testament to living boldly and with heart. Join us for an inspiring conversation that challenges perceptions and celebrates the power of living authentically.
