John 17:4-10

John 17:4-10 is a portion of a larger passage commonly referred to as the High Priestly Prayer, a prayer Jesus offers on behalf of His disciples just before His arrest, which marks the culmination of His earthly ministry. In this segment, Jesus communicates intimately with the Father, reflecting on the completion of the work God gave Him to do on earth. He speaks of having glorified God by fulfilling His mission, which includes revealing God's name to the people given to Him out of the world. Jesus emphasizes the reciprocal knowledge and acknowledgment between Him and His followers, highlighting their acceptance of the words God gave to Him and their belief that Jesus was indeed sent by God.
