All About ARFID
Michael Hann

Join Michael Hann (Paediatric Dietitian) for a show all about how to approach complex nutrition and related medical issues that impact children and teens with severe Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) and Paediatric Feeding Disorders (PFDs). This includes those children with high-severity presentations of Autism, neurodivergence, ADHD, anxiety, phobias, demand avoidance, mood disorders and other psychiatry. Often these youth also experience other complex functional and medical issues, which are very difficult to resolve when extremely sensitive, restrictive and rigid traits are barriers to oral intake. In this podcast show, we will explore how we can sometimes investigate, understand and solve tough, chronic problems. We will cover feeding therapies, functional foods, safe use of supplements, prescription nutrition products, meal replacement formulas, oral versus tube and PEG feeding options, pathology diagnostics, stool and urine tests, genetics, medications, nutraceuticals and insights from scientific and clinical research papers.
