haal us kā tire chehre pe likhā lagtā hai
vo jo chup-chāp khaḌā hai tirā kyā lagtā hai
yuuñ tirī yaad meñ din raat magan rahtā huuñ
dil dhḌaknā tire qadmoñ kī sadā lagtā hai
yuuñ to har chiiz salāmat hai mirī duniyā meñ
ik ta.alluq hai ki jo TuuTā huā lagtā hai
ai mire jazb-e-darūñ mujh meñ kashish hai itnī
jo ḳhatā hotā hai vo tiir bhī aa lagtā hai
jaane maiñ kaun sī pastī meñ girā huuñ 'shahzād'
is qadar duur hai sūraj ki diyā lagtā hai
حال اس کا ترے چہرہ پہ لکھا لگتا ہے
وہ جو چپ چاپ کھڑا ہے ترا کیا لگتا ہے
یوں تری یاد میں دن رات مگن رہتا ہوں
دل دھڑکنا ترے قدموں کی صدا لگتا ہے
یوں تو ہر چیز سلامت ہے مری دنیا میں
اک تعلق ہے کہ جو ٹوٹا ہوا لگتا ہے
اے مرے جذب دروں مجھ میں کشش ہے اتنی
جو خطا ہوتا ہے وہ تیر بھی آ لگتا ہے
جانے میں کون سی پستی میں گرا ہوں شہزادؔ
