Hello Listeners, Welcome. My name is Phillip J. Mellen and I hail from the state of Massachusetts, USA. Hence the ‘Bostonian accent’ stand-in: \"aht\" for \"art\". It’s ahtcast. Ahtcast is a word, a partially made up word. It is a podcast. It is a podcast that aims to discover the passions, through the investigation of process, of the artist and their work, studio practice and inspirations etc. The backbone of each interview is the set of questions that are asked in each interview. They are a vehicle for dialogue. They are designed to gain insights and are a catalyst for open conversation. These questions often yield some very personal stories behind why artists do what they do and how they do it. I hope you enjoy the content shared in these interviews. Thank you for listening. Please visit: www.ahtcast.com for more on each artist. (\"explicit\" only because some artists use so many darn swear words).

Sabine Tress | the Space Oddities interview
Words of the day: gesture. vulnerability. consciousness. Zero gravity. For this episode Sabine Tress returns to the podcast, from her studio in Cologne, Germany, to discuss the work in her solo show Space Oddities. This conversation acts mostly as a virtual tour of Sabine’s exhibition. Detailing the relationships between the actual exhibition space, the paintings, the viewer, and the painter herself. Somehow I make my way into the mix as well. I did not know this interview would journey in the direction it did, it wasn’t until editing did I realized how these states were apparent. This recording creates a virtual venue where the show takes place for those who can’t make it to the brick and mortar space, and yet helps make it a show not to miss in person.     Sabine Tress' website: https://sabinetress.de/   Space Oddities runs until February 12th 2022At Esther Verhaeghe Art ConceptsBrussles, Belgium   More info on the show: https://estherverhaeghe.com/     Thanks for listening!   (Original intro song by David T Miller and Phillip J. Mellen)
