One disclaimer: We mention vaguely Genesis 2:17 - we are not equating the CoW with the CoG, but simply saying that the sequence of God's interaction with man after the fall, prior to Genesis 3:15, is the outworking of the CoR leading up to the CoG. In simple terms, the fact that Adam and Eve did not die upon sinning is the product of God's eternal gracious purpose and plan for saving men in time. They suffered a spiritual death, rather than an immediate physical death due to God's gracious purpose.
