We need to make sure they are strong. Tongue strength and exercises! (Biggest muscle in body beside the uterus but many tongues get fat and weak.) Why baby steps are everything. Get Your Pelvic Floor In Order with Melissa Nassaney - Physical Therapist and Women's Health Educator
Ever leaked? Are you doing your Kegels correctly? Melissa Nassaney, Physical Therapist & Women’s Health Educator is here to give us an introduction to pelvic health. Melissa's website is www.fullcirclepelvichealth.com Did you know that pelvic floor health is vital for our urinary health, all over balance and so much more? As a women’s health advocate for over 30 years and a board certified women’s health clinical specialist, Melissa has been helping women of all ages from menses to menopause and beyond manage their pelvic health, recover from childbirth or surgery and regain bladder/bowel control while they get back to their optimal level of fitness/function. Her obsession with women’s health began when she taught her first exercise class for women at 18 years old. Years later, during her 1st pregnancy, she experienced her own pelvic health issues. Back then, it felt like she was navigating a stormy ocean with a sailboat, completely alone with no one really knowing how to help. It took over 2 years to recover fully. With her second baby, childbirth was not so good to her pelvic floor. She realized that she was in the same boat with an even more difficult recovery ahead. Gratefully, she learned about women’s physical therapy and became whole again. Immediately, she vowed to advocate for pelvic health. What's in store for March and April - Astro treat with Astrologer Gina Piccalo

Gina PIccalo is back on the pod to share what spring has in store for us. (It's good!)

Astrologer Gina Piccalo uses cosmic cycles + common sense to heal clients of imposter syndrome, inspire self-love and guide them to their true purpose. She can be found on Instagram and YouTube and at her website ginapiccaloastrology.com

"You don't have to believe in astrology for it to work," Gina reminds us. It is a fantastic planning tool.

Marissa is a devotee of Gina's weekly free forecasts on Instagram.

Gina is also launching two new programs: Astroschool and Align and Thrive.

Gina Piccalo: "It sounds counterintuitive, but my years as a journalist (see ginapiccalo.com) led me directly to astrology. I pitched a story about fortune-tellers and got a dozen different readings. The astrologers blew my mind. I was hooked. After 20 years studying on my own, I finally got certified in natal astrology in 2014 by the masters at Kepler College — Georgia Stathis, Carol Tebbs and Karen McCauley, among them. Now, I host astrology events in Los Angeles and Nashville, Tennessee and consult one-on-one with clients around the world. As a journalist, I gathered an enviable breadth of experience. As an astrologer, I'm finally able to use it to help people. Astrology, as I use it, instills empowerment, self-awareness and meaning into our lives. Many times, that’s all we really need."

Claire Hartley - Owner of Rising Lotus Yoga - This is your multi-vitamin episode: breath, movement, the nervous system, tongue placement and more...!
Claire Hartley is the owner of Rising Lotus in Sherman Oaks, California. She is full of wisdom, and she talks to Marissa about breath work (Buteyko Method, Wim Hof), Neural Kinetic Therapy, how to start a mental detox from 2020 and so much more. This episode is packed with goodies and wisdom. Claire mentions: Humankind by Rutger Bregman  Pema Chodron The Buteyko Method Wim Hof Breath Find Claire on Instagram @ClaireHartleyYoga British born Yoga teacher, Claire Hartley, is known for bringing the deeper layers and meaning of Yoga and Yoga philosophy through all of her classes and workshop experiences, leaving the practitioners with an experience of the authentic joyful Self. She always does this with a healthy dose of her Brit wit and sensibility! She teaches weekly at her LA studio Rising Lotus Yoga, as well as trainings and conferences. Her journey begin when she was fortunate enough to stumble into the beginning of the western Yoga revolution in New York city in the early 90s. The east village was still known as Alphabet City and it was here she found her healing and passion for Yoga at the Jivamukti Yoga Center. A deeply spiritual center led by Sharon Gannon and David Life who were intimidating, wild and incredibly uncompromising in their conviction that Yoga was a path to Self-Realization. She moved to Los Angeles in 2001 where she continued her practice and trained with some of the best teachers in the world including an apprenticeship with Senior Iyengar teacher Lisa Walford. This training along with other studies informed her vinyasa flow style with a deep love of alignment and functional movement, that if yoga is about relationships then building a more healthy and sustainable and joyful one with the body and movement can lead to a deeper inquiry into the self. In April 2006 she opened and co-founded Rising Lotus Yoga, a busy and thriving studio in Los Angeles, attracting practitioners seeking alignment based Vinyasa Yoga classes with healthy doses of dharma talks, chanting and joyful community. In 2008 she created the popular Rising Lotus Teacher Training Program, along with Daniel Stewart,  which teaches trainees how to bring intelligent alignment and sequencing to students as well as bringing real meaning back to the yoga practice with dharma talks, self-reflection and a commitment to stay constantly curious to the path of becoming a teacher of yoga, which ultimately is a teacher of the heart.
