At sixteen, Michael had a near-death experience during knee surgery when his heart stopped. Though sedated, he became aware of the medical team's voices and then found himself in a state of pure love and peace, beyond his body. He felt united with God and had no fear of death. Wanting to ease the distress of those in the operating room, he focused his energy—and suddenly returned to life. Now fifty-three, Michael believes he was brought back because of his concern for others. He is certain we continue to live beyond physical death in a more beautiful form.
