Whether at home or abroad, the social, political, and economic aspects of our homeland generally go untouched by the next generation of Africans across the globe. Hosted by yours truly, Christina Uwana, I hope to encourage us to get comfortable with these seemingly uncomfortable conversations. Join me as we mix a little banter with real-life issues and potential solutions that we face as a continent. Developmental Disabilities in African Households ft. Ms. Elizabeth

Happy Sunday, everyone! In today’s episode, we’re tackling a somewhat sensitive topic: What African Parents of Children with Disabilities Need to Hear. I’m sure we all know at least one family member who has an intellectual or developmental disability—whether it's autism or another condition. Unfortunately, there is often a stigma surrounding these individuals, which is why I believe it's so important to shed light on this issue. Join Ms. Elizabeth and me as we discuss the stigmas, stereotypes, and mindsets of many African parents. More importantly, we’ll explore how we as a community can shift our mindset to better support and bring out the best in our loved ones with disabilities. Sit back and enjoy this episode—only here on the AYU Podcast!
