When the Sahara was still a lush landscape of fields and streams, Wagadu stood tall agaisnt the advancing desert. But as the sun scorched the Northern lands and its people fled South, Wagadu closed its gates and met the nomads on the battlefield. Out of decades of conflict, one hero came to prominence - Prince Gassire. Mighty as he was, he could nevertheless not fight the desire to have his name etched in history.
