Sara and Finley were done. Sara was pulling in subpar grades in French, despite spending several hours perfecting the perfect French rap song. Just today, Finley scored a whopping 65% on her Art History test. If only she could put in her description writing effort into studying. Plagued with Covid burnout and general lethargy that the most upbeat Taylor Swift couldn't cure, Sara and Finley do the one thing they know best: complain about the current situation with copious amounts of sarcasm.

Finley taps out a couple of words and closes her eyes involuntarily. It's 9:51 PM which is very late for her but normal for everyone else. She should have finished this earlier instead of eating mini oranges and watching Grey's Anatomy while taking a bath.
"Help me Sara," She thought out loud. Hopefully, quantum physics would tell Sara that she was thinking about her and Finley would show up in her dream. Maybe in the form of an alarmed saguaro cactus or a traumatized beaver.
This week on Adole-sense, it's too late to write a good description. We played yet another snake draft with Cec and Arya, this time with celebrities. This time, we each came up with a category and only told each other a few minutes before: SO material, 1900s celeb, best couple, worst driver, best sibling duo, and wildcard. What is Cec's type? Why is Joan of Arc the dream girl? And who will reign supreme as the new Snake Queen?
READ AFTER YOU FINISH LISTENING: My two braincells forgot to put in the calls where I reveal the winner. The win was a three way tie between me, Cec, and Sara with three votes each. Sara said that she would have voted for me so I think I won.

Finley and Arya had hit an all-time low. Everywhere they looked, they were reminded of their devastating loss. Cecily and Sara were on their high horse. So high, it was practically a giraffe or perhaps a very massive moose. They needed to win the next draft. So they hatched a secret plan to annihilate Sara and Cec.
After two reschedulings and a grueling four days of editing, Adole-sense brings you our second snake draft competition: books. Listen as we battle it out amongst ourselves to draft books into six categories: realistic fiction/non-fiction, romance/historical fiction, fantasy/dystopian, movie adaptation, before 1900, and wildcard. Also featuring secret phone calls, Finley's epic Sara impersonation, Finley's road to insanity, and Sara's Inner Demon. Who will be crowned the new Snake Queen?

"What episode should we record?" Finley and Sara look at the two episode outlines they had. None of them jumped out at them. The idea of editing an episode sickened their insides. So Finley created another lame challenge: the no edit episode. No cuts, trims, sound effects, and all the awkward pauses. Just an unfiltered, no edit episode with a live theme song performance. This episode is so low effort, Finley didn't even find a good place to put an ad. She just stuck in a sponsorship midsentence. Legendary. This week, Adole-sense welcomes Arya (ep. 14) back to talk about mental health! We talk about our personal mental health experiences (7th grade as not a good time) and what caused all our issues. Then, we give an overview of anxiety, depression, and related disorders (for information about eating disorders, listen to our upcoming episode about body positivity). Finally, we give our tips for improving your mental health. We hope this episode helps you! Remember that you are never alone.
We forgot to talk about this in the episode, but here is some advice from me and Arya about helping your friends!
- Let your friends know that they can always come to you for help!
- Listen to them. If they tell you something you are doing is not helping, stop.
- Make sure you understand your friend's problems and concerns before you act. In some situations, telling someone else or forcing things on to them can make their mental state a lot worse.
- If you are concerned about your friend's safety, tell an adult that they trust, preferably someone with experience in the area that they feel comfortable with.
- Observe your friend, and talk to them if they seem off. For example, if you know your friend has social anxiety and is getting nervous at school, try to talk to them in private or and see how you can make the situation better.
- Know that you have the power to help your friends. Arya and I are so thankful for the friends that have literally changed our lives with their love and support.
