Episode 54: Crossing the US Border for US Clinical Experience

**LISTEN HERE, THEN WATCH THE VIDEO FORM OF THIS EPISODE ON YOUTUBE.COM/ACMEDICALORG**

Non-US IMGs, those who require visa sponsorship, are a major contributor to the US workforce, but as we’ve seen during the pandemic, their entry into the US can be delayed, or even stopped altogether. Even before visa sponsorship for US residency, they need to gain US clinical experiences, which also requires a visa. In today’s podcast, we will focus on those students and doctors needing a US visa to gain US clinical experience.

1. What type of visa do medical students need for US clinicals? How about graduates?

2. Typically, what questions are asked during a visa interview? What’s the process like?

3. When crossing the US Border for US clinical experience, how should you conduct yourself with the immigration officer?

4. What documents should I present?

5. What happens to my clinical rotation if I am denied at the border? What should I do?
