New storm to usher in rain, then much colder air with wind in East; plus Beyond Jamaica, Hurricane Melissa to blast Cuba, Bahamas before turning toward Bermuda
It will be a stormy end to October in the eastern United States, and the drenching rain will be followed by a long-lasting burst of chilly air. Some snow may even fly over the northern mountains.
Also, Hurricane Melissa has already unleashed deadly flooding, and after sweeping over Jamaica, it will take aim at Cuba and the Bahamas with life-threatening conditions.
