Acadia After Dark Park Update 2

Good evening, hikers. And thank you for joining another broadcast of Acadia After Dark’s Park Updates, here on ▇▇▇▇▇▇—your favorite community radio show, live from the fog-wrapped coastline where the whispers of the past carry dark secrets... and the rhubarb pie is only mildly possessed.

Kids are heading back to school, and no one is more thrilled than the local black-eyed children, who’ve spent the summer terrorizing unsuspecting visitors to our beloved national park. But with budget cuts, staffing issues and the consolidation of local schools underway,  some paranormal investigators warn of... complications.

Also coming up:

  • The Black Moon Festival was a resounding success—congratulations to our brave Park Rangers.
  • Uber or Taxi? Which do our wandering spirits prefer?
  • A local politician is making waves, giving working-class voters hope for the first time in years.

Park Updates is a new series from the Acadia After Dark Universe. Think of it as your guide to surviving the supernatural bureaucracy of the worlds most haunted national park. Inspired by the likes of Welcome to Night Vale, this series blends horror, satirical humor, and narrative world-building to deliver ranger reports, cryptic announcements, and unsettling community bulletins from a park that may not be entirely terrestrial.

Whether you’re a seasoned camper, a curious outsider, or something else entirely, we welcome you to laugh nervously, listen closely, and never—ever—stray from the path. As always, keep those lanterns lit and stay safe out there.
