This initiative is a project of the Bantu Development Agency funded by the Goethe Insitut through their GPS programme. It is a platform for rural women's voices to be amplified and for them to share their various stories, to be heard, and to be given the power to control their own narratives and use their own voices to inspire action that drives change for their communities. With aBantu Development Agency, Keiskamma Trust, Lelethu PoeticSoul Mahambehlala and 8 Hamburg village women collaborated on this project. Lelethu is a well-known and respected award-winning Port Elizabeth poet, writer, and advocate for women's and girls' rights.
The cooperation took the shape of poetry, storytelling, and creative writing workshops, as well as a series of recorded podcasts and a live performance in front of an audience. Lelethu is also the aBantu Development Agency's programming manager. In this episode we are joined by Zonke Nxadi and Nomasakheke Manga.
