Rachael Sumner - Are psychedelics an untapped treatment solution for mental health?

In this interview on the Sense of Hope Podcast - we speak to Rachael Sumner. Please note: This interview is not to be taken as medical advice and some of the substances discussed in this podcast are Class A drugs and remain illegal to possess in New Zealand and many other countries. Rachael is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Auckland, School of Pharmacy. Her expertise is in using brain recording and blood analysis techniques to understand chemical changes in the brain. She has worked with LSD, ketamine, and scopolamine in the context of developing novel treatments for depression and is excited by the potential for microdosing psychedelics in this space. Rachael has a particular passion for women’s health and menstrual cycle-related disorders. This is a fascinating interview into the power that some substances may have in supporting the reduction of depression symptoms and other associated mental health issues.
