In between, of course, all hell breaks loose, a prophecy begins to take shape, and another comes true. There are so many twists and turns, and we're not sure if we can trust anyone, not John Thistle, not the Nightmare, perhaps not Ravyn, not Elm, and maybe not even Elspeth. So who is left to trust? What does the mist want with children? And how does one truly become infected? And why is Ian giving constructive criticism on how to be a better highwayman? One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig has bamboozled us once more, keeping us coming back for the crumbs of insight. We have way more questions than we started with, and very few answers are presenting themselves. We can only keep reading in the hopes of learning the truth.
