Nearing the end of his travels in Europe, William travels from Liege to Mechelen in Belgium, experiencing crowded omnibuses and uncomfortable trains, the Flemish city of Leuven, with its long beer brewing history, and the cathedral in Mechelen with its distinctive shaped tower.
