A Digital Journal is like a voicemail from me to you! It’s reflections and lessons I’m learning as I try to navigate life through the lens of Islam. It’s a space to pause and realign, for both you and me. May these reminders be light for you and me, in this world and the next. *note to self “So remind, for indeed the reminder benefits the believers.” (51:55) “Your Lord has not abandoned you, nor has He become hateful of you.” (Ad-Duhaa 93:3)

Things to reflect on, ramadan so far & the lailatul qadr hunt!

- Remind yourself WHY you’re fasting, and WHY you’re praying the nights, and WHY you’re searching for lailatul qadr - وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ تَنفَعُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ, But ˹continue to˺ remind. For certainly reminders benefit the believers.”

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever fasted the month of Ramadan out of sincere Faith (i.e. belief) and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his past sins will be forgiven, and whoever stood for the prayers in the night of Qadr out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven ."

Reference : Sahih al-Bukhari 2014

In-book reference : Book 32, Hadith 1

You have to go out of your way to not be forgiven by Allah, if there’s a deficiency in your fasting, your qiyaam will make up for it by Allahs mercy , if there’s a deficiency in your qiyaam , qiyaam on lailatul wadr will make up for it by the mercy of Allah

A complete guide to the last 10 nights and lailatul qadr with Imam Omar-

- If you’ve stayed up all night before, you CAN STAY UP ALL NIGHT TONIGHT ( the last ten nights!) , YOU CAN SLEEP ON THE DAY OF EID

It’s ten nights ! And it’s gone!

a night BETTER than a THOUSAND months not EQUAL TO! BETTER!

- The best version of you is the person you’ve been this ramadan, is the person you are the type of person that goes to paradise?? Are you the type of person you want to die being?

- Reflect on- is the ramadan I’ve lived good enough for Allah to say, yes , I will grant you jannah, I will forgive this servant of mine

- We have to prayyyyyy about the things we’ve given up in ramadan, let it not be a pause! Are you worshipping Ramadan or Allah!?

- be in constant communication with Allah, talk to Allah, tell him , ya Allah you see what I am going through,

Ya Allah help me, ya Allah I’m trying

Dua is WORSHIP!

And correct worship is rewarded ! By the mercy and will of Allah!

- A dua from the Quran I recently started loving:

My Lord! Inspire me to ˹always˺ be thankful for Your favours which You blessed me and my parents with, and to do good deeds that please You. And instil righteousness in my offspring. I truly repent to You, and I truly submit ˹to Your Will˺.”

Part of Quran 46:15

“My Lord! Inspire me to ˹always˺ be thankful for Your favours which You have blessed me and my parents with, and to do good deeds that please you. Admit me, by Your mercy, into ˹the company of˺ Your righteous servants.”
