Ep. 28 Males in the Dance Industry | Chip Abbott

Choreographer, Teacher and Director, Chip Abbott, shares what it's like to be a male in the dance industry. We discuss how detrimental bullying can be and it's influence on young men pursuing their dance dreams, explore ways the dance community can better train men and women to partner with each other, and show support for the #boysdancetoo movement. Learn more about Chip's unique dance journey - he shares some incredibly relatable stories and recalls his time working alongside Josh Bergasse for the Broadway productions of On the Town and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Chip is a two time IAAPA award winning Director for shows he helped develop for RWS Entertainment Group at Hershey Park. As a dedicated dance teacher, Chip insists on focusing on artistic expression and creates a safe class environment in which students feel they can practice new skills and grow in their talents.
