The King is dead, long live the Queen, or is it the King? Welcome back, fellow dragon enthusiasts! Fiona and Emma here, ready to dive headfirst into the wild ride that is episodes 9 and 10 of House of the Dragon. Buckle up, because these episodes are packed tighter than a dragon's treasure hoard with conspiracies, murder, power plays, childbirth, and, of course, epic dragon fights. Episode 9 starts off with a bang—well, more like a silent, sneaky shuffle in the dark as the news of King Viserys’s death is kept under wraps. The Green Council wastes no time plotting and scheming to put Aegon on the throne, and boy, do they have a flair for dramatic entrances. Otto Hightower, ever the puppet master, pulls strings like he’s playing a harp, while Alicent tries to navigate her way through the murky waters of power and loyalty. The tension is so thick, you could slice it with a Valyrian steel blade. And then we soar into Episode 10, where Rhaenyra finally gets her moment to shine, or rather, to burn. The Black Council rallies around her, and we get a front-row seat to the beginning of the Dance of the Dragons. There’s a lot of fire and fury as the battle lines are drawn—literally, with dragons swooping through the sky. And let’s not forget the shocking and tragic moments that keep us glued to the screen, including a childbirth scene that rivals any horror movie for sheer intensity. So, as the Dance begins and Plotto’s (yes, we’re calling him that now) plans are finally revealed, we’re left eagerly awaiting the chaos Season 2 will surely bring. Until then, keep your dragons close and your enemies closer, because in the world of House of the Dragon, you never know when the next firestorm will hit.
