Displacer Beast Deconstruction

In this episode of 8-bit Monsters' Monster Deconstruction for D&D 5e we look at the iconic Displacer Beast & the Reduced Threat version from Tales from the Yawning Portal. With only two traits to work off of and a simple multiattack. It's good we look at both versions of this monster since the Displacer Beast is a quick run down and has a very standard array for it's DCR & OCR. So come join us as we take a look at this elusive, angry cat and see how it deconstructs.

The idea of this podcast is to break monsters down into their bare components: DCR & OCR. These two values will allow us to see how strong they are and to see where D&D got the CR values from. I'm doing this because all too often, players skip right to level 3 to avoid the hell levels and possibly end up dead. Generally, each monster is a balancing act that isn't equal to the final value.
