Set in a dystopian future London, Qohen Leth (Waltz) an introverted and eccentric computer genius lives in his home inside a run-down cathedral-type church, waiting for his “call” containing an all knowing voice from which he seeks the answers and meaning of his life. When 'Management' (Matt Damon) assigns him to work at home on proving a mysterious Zero Theorem, Qohen finds himself battling against solitary madness, an ever present surveillance and accountability system, and the repetitive interjections by the flirtatious Bainsley (the love of Joe’s life, Melanie Thierry) and Bob (Lucas Hedges), Management’s super-genius son, all while simply trying to self-will the call that he desperately seeks and determine what is real and what is just inside the computers.
