This week on 3Amoviegos, our heroes are left with the open question of what is morally wrong when it comes to creating and how to treat A.I. as they chat about Alex Garland’s Ex Machina. Computer programmer Caleb (Domhnall Gleeson) wins an an opportunity to spend one week in the estate of Google-like company Bluebook owner Nathan (Oscar Issac) in the mountains. Upon arrival, Caleb discovers that within this state-of-art research facility, Nathan has requested him there to perform a Turing test. We then discover that Nathan has created an artificial intelligence in a female body called Ava. Caleb is supposed to evaluate Ava’s A.I. and determine if it’s beyond doubt that she is a live consciousness. Through many interactions with Ava, and also with Nathan, Caleb is torn in many directions on my different moral levels, until we are all left with the question of what is life, what is consciousness, and what is truth? And we wrap up with show with a little chat about Bruce Jenner, on this week’s 3Amoviegos.
