Licence to kill took us from being a series of movies about a posh spy who occasionally got into some fisticuffs, and straight into Rambo territory with a spy who could shoot big guns, hang out of airplanes, and generally be a major bad ass. Was all that off limits to James Bond? Not according to the critics! Audiences were ready for James Bond to shed his Roger Moore stylings and vault into the 1980s...well at the end of the 80s. It was a lot and a little late, but did the job they wanted anyway. Bond became relevant again, just in time for Timothy Dalton to hang up the tuxedo.
