After several years of playing raves throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania, Jason became a resident at The Mercury Lounge (2000-2004) and Twist Social Club (2004-2010) in Cleveland. House was always a constant, but his affinity for syncopation led him elsewhere… This mix highlights a sound that was born from 2-Step and UK Garage, and was fused with Drum & Bass and Breaks stylings, creating the amalgamated sound of Breakstep. Comprised of vinyl records produced between 1999 and 2002, this episode is designed to take you on a journey, back in time… “The Light that burns twice as bright burns half as long”… This Bladerunner quote describes Jason’s sentiments towards a short-lived sound.
