Nyepi〜バリ島の正月

バリ・ヒンズー教の元旦（Nyepi＝ニュピ）は、インドネシアの国の休日であり、バリ島では外出禁止、電気・火気の使用禁止が州法で厳格に定められており、異教徒や外国人にも適用されるが、その数日前から各村々ではニュピを迎えるために盛大な儀式が行われる。この映像は、特別の許可を得て、スムピディの街で撮影したものである。 2009年のニュピは3月26日にあたる。
