遠賀郡芦屋町の岡湊神社には神功皇后の夫、仲哀天皇の伝承が残っています。
仲哀天皇の船が遠賀川の河口付近で動かなくなります。
案内人の熊鰐の忠告で大蔵主の命とつぶら姫を祀ると船がスムーズに動いたという伝承です。
芦屋は昔から海運で栄えた町。岡湊神社境内の大きな石灯籠は、芦屋や伊万里の商人が寄付したものだそうです。
