空海伝説が伝わる観音山大徳寺。観音山は高さが１３２メートルの山です。
空海が残したものとしては、山の中腹にある奥の院の大岩に手彫りの梵字があります。
また、本堂には空海（弘法大師）お手植えの松に書いた｢夫れ仏法 遙かなるに非ず心中に即ち近し｣という言葉が残されています。
