安曇族は、かつて信州・安曇野に百済仏を持ち込んだのでは、といわれます。
これについての綾杉さんの説です。
百済の聖明王の王子～余昌が命を狙われた時に、葛子の子供である鞍橋（くらじ）の君が助けます。
その時のお礼に贈られたのがその仏像ではなかったか、という説です。
