尾根伝いに大野城跡の土塁を歩きます。
大野城は６６５年に築城されました。これは白村江の戦いで、唐と新羅の連合軍に破れた日本が防衛体制を整えるために６６４年に大宰府に水城を築き、その翌年の６６５年に築いたものです。
尾根を歩いてみますと、予想以上に起伏がはげしく、礎石や石塁で守りを固め、容易に城の中へ入れないのが分かります。
