八女市の岩戸山古墳から今回はスタートします。
この古墳の墳丘は135メートル。巨大な前方後円墳です。
古墳に葬られているのは、現在のところ筑紫の君磐井だといわれています。
「磐井の乱」で知られる豪族です。
古墳に付属してある別区といわれる広場は石人石馬を飾ったところ。
ここから巨大な古墳の方へと歩いていきます
