「ベル麻痺」は顔面神経の麻痺を主な症状とする病気で大体10万人中15～30人ぐらいの頻度で起こり、特に40歳ぐらいの年代で起こることが多いと言われている。突発的に顔の半分が動かなくなったり、片方の口角が上がらなくなったりといった症状が出る。今回は、具体的な症状や治療法のほかに、ベル麻痺に似た症状をひき起こす別の病気や注意点についても紹介する。
