EN: As a result of the two Russo-Persian wars that took place at the beginning of 19th century, Iran lost the Caucasus, including Armenia and Azerbaijan. The first of the two wars ended with the Treaty of Gyulistan, the second with the Treaty of Turkmenchay. The latter, in addition to causing additional losses to Iran, once again strengthened the conditions of Gyulistan. This is why today Iran considers the Treaty of Turkmenchay a disgrace, and the Caucasus its historical lands, the loss of which is regretful for Iran.
