這是日本配樂大師坂本龍一離世新聞發布前9天，在参加一個鋼琴愛好者聚會的現場錄音。這首Merry Christmas, Mr.Lawrence 極具東方內斂的電音編曲，一直都是我很喜歡的曲子。

幾年前，在YouTube 頻道上，看到了罹癌後的阪本龍一以鋼琴獨奏了這首，我當場起了雞皮疙瘩。跟原版風格迥然不同的詮釋。沒有了絢麗的電氣音色，去掉了電子節拍，唯一只有琴鍵上沉澱後的音律流動，既撫慰又訴說著電影裡角色自我跟現實的衝突。單純的琴音與和弦營造的氛圍，當下坂本龍一的音樂只屬於坂本龍一。

這段演奏，一開始是即興一段序後再第一次進入主題，接下來都照如此的架構進行，最後結束時，會回到當初坂本龍一鋼琴獨奏的開始作為結束，表示對他的敬重和呼應。
This is a live recording of the Japanese music master Ryuichi Sakamoto, nine days before the news of his death, at a gathering of piano enthusiasts. This song, Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence, has a very oriental and restrained electronic arrangement, and it has always been one of my favorite songs.

A few years ago, on YouTube, I saw Sakamoto, who had cancer, playing this song solo on the piano, and I got goosebumps on the spot. It was a completely different interpretation from the original style. Without the brilliant electric sound, without the electronic beat, only the melody flowing from the keys after precipitation, soothing and telling the conflict between the self and reality of the characters in the movie. The simple piano sound and the atmosphere created by the chords, Sakamoto’s music at that moment belonged only to Sakamoto.

This performance, starting with an improvised introduction and then entering the main theme for the first time, followed by the same structure, and ending with the beginning of Sakamoto’s piano solo as the end, indicating respect and echo for him.
