Difference between the Lord-established justice and human justice. The justice of the Mosaic Law as newly interpreted in the Sermon on the Mount: “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth’” (Mt. 5:38). Restoration of justice by the Lord: “Vengeance is Mine, and I shall recompense” (Deut. 32:35). “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled” (Mt. 5:6).
