India's Just Transition Landscape

In this episode, our host, Hridayesh Joshi, speaks to Sandeep Pai and Mayank Aggarwal. Sandeep Pai is an international researcher who has been closely following the subject of Just Transition across the globe with a special focus on India. Mayank Aggarwal is a Delhi-based journalist who has written extensively on India’s just transition journey over the last few years.

In the first episode of CarbonCopy’s podcast, ‘Urja Badlav’, Hridayesh Joshi and the two guests decode the concept of Just Transition and how the idea has evolved in India with the country’s focus on increasing coal production over the next decade. They also discuss the policies and framework that are required for just transition in India and whether that is on the agenda of the government or not. They further discussed the role of domestic and international stakeholders in India’s plans for just transition.
